Interracial Cupid is FREE to join and has no expiry date on free membership. There are, however, two upgraded memberships available on Interracial Cupid. To benefit from all the features provided on the site you will need to upgrade your membership to either GOLD or PLATINUM. The prices for these upgrades are as follows and are billed in one payment:

GOLD Membership:

The three different membership types provide the member with different functions and benefits which are explained below in the 'Features' section of this review. Membership upgrades can be paid for by credit card, PaySafeCard, and Ukash.

GOLD membership allows the above plus the following features:

- FREE members can read your messages to them without them requiring an upgraded membership.
- Update and add a personality profile to help tell the world about the real you.
- Include personal information in messages including your vital statistics, interests and hobbies (if you choose).
- Your profile will automatically be ranked higher than FREE members, meaning it's more likely people will see your profile and get in touch.

PLATINUM membership allows all of the above, plus the following benefits:
- Higher ranking for your profile (above GOLD and FREE members) which means your profile will appear before other members and so is more likely to get noticed.
- You can watch video profiles and see a person for who they really are.
- Send and receive video mail to other PLATINUM members, allowing chatting and flirting to take on a whole new dimension.
- Translate messages in to another language. An amazing feature which will allow you to speak to anyone from anywhere in the world.

FREE membership will allow you to do a standard quick search. This search is fairly basic but does allow you to specify the age, gender and specific city you'd like your search to focus on. If you're not too picky then this search is sufficient enough to find a lot of available singles. To use an advanced search you must upgrade your membership to either GOLD or PLATINUM. An advanced search allows you to narrow your search by selecting characteristics such as body type, attractiveness, religion and education. With this search you will be able to select your preferences and therefore people who aren't really suitable for you will be ignored, saving you a lot of time and effort.

There are a number of other searches and lists available to paying members, including searches which display which members have shown an interest in you, who you have blocked from contacting you, who is currently online and who has recently added photos. These searches provide an excellent way of varying how you look for members, allow you to keep records of your activity, and can just be a lot of fun to play around with.

Pictures of attractive singles are featured throughout, which is always a bonus when considering to join up. In fact we found that this isn't just for show: a quick search will reveal a lot of attractive singles with real profiles and real photographs. For some reason InterracialCupid seems to attract the good-lookers like bees to nectar. No bad thing!

What's really noteworthy about Interracial Cupid is its profile construction. Simple at first glance, but attractive and effective. The amount of information provided on a profile allows you to build an idea of what a member might be like without them even having made any personal comments. You are frequently presented with a pleasing photograph and a stream of information in which to bathe your inquisitive dating mind. As a FREE member you can show your admiration for a member's profile by sending an 'interested' nudge (for lack of a better word). The FREE membership does, however, fall a little short when you actually want to communicate with a member. FREE users are only permitted to receive messages from paying members, and not actually send anything out. Therefore if you want to get chatting, which we assume you do, you'll have to fork out some money and go for GOLD or PLATINUM membership.

This seems as good a time as any to talk about cost; in particular, the difference in cost between GOLD and PLATINUM membership and what you're getting for the extra money. As with most dating sites, the more months you sign up for the cheaper per month it becomes. If you're thinking of taking a whole year subscription with InterracialCupid we believe that the PLATINUM membership pays off. For a mere £5 a year extra you can enjoy video chats and messaging and video profiles, as well as the brilliant bonus of having your profile ranked higher than all FREE and GOLD members. This extra publicity seems worth £5 alone.

InterracialCupid has a great Frequently Asked Questions section with a long list of helpful advice for its members. This ranges from how to use video messaging to simple site navigation and tips on how to improve your profile to receive more attention. There is also a ‘contact us’ email system which could be very handy for members who are having particular trouble. There are a number of articles on issues such as dating tips to help out those people who might need an extra ounce of encouragement, as well as a section containing various success stories from the site from actual users who have found their perfect partner. The site is also dedicated to safe dating and provides a separate section of tips and general advice for when you finally decide to meet another member.

There are a lot of ways to communicate on InterracialCupid, particularly if you have the PLATINUM membership package. These range from video chatting and messaging, to email and instant chat. These features make one-on-one chat particularly enthralling and will help create bonds between you and other singles. However, the site does seem to lack any kind of community notice board which some of the other dating sites have and seem to thrive on. If you’re not really bothered about the community of daters out there though, this isn’t really an issue and you can still enjoy plenty of time speaking with other members in a more personal way.

One potential problem with InterracialCupid is that its members don’t seem to enjoy opening their wallets. Most members on a UK search seem to have a standard, FREE membership, which means that they can receive messages from you if you do decide to upgrade your membership to GOLD or PLATINUM but that they cannot respond. You could, however, turn this fact to your advantage. Since very few people have been paying for the service, you could upgrade to another package and then message all the singles you like. Chances are that you’re one of few people to actually have this ability, so if you drop them your phone number or email address you probably don’t have much competition! (You see, like Yogi, we’re smarter than the average bear!)

All in all InterracialCupid is a very good interracial dating site with plenty of (attractive) members and therefore plenty of possibilities to find love. Spending a little money and time could really pay off with this site, so we suggest that if you do choose to use this one, prise open your wallet, blow away the moths, and spend some paper – you won’t regret it!
