Interracial Romance is horrible. The only thing they're good at is refunding you your money!
Please note...They're quick to take your money, (like most sites) but not so eager to deliver on the goods they've advertised!
The issues I faced:
Filters don't exist or work.
Mostly older men between the ages of 50-70ish.
Tons of profiles that haven't been visited within over 2 weeks which indicates there's a lot of inactivity on the site.
Tons of profiles that are missing information.
Tons of profiles missing pictures.
Honestly, it's an older and not so fleshed out website which is also their downfall. I feel that since it's like this, it semi caters to an older crowd (men in their 50's, 60's,and 70's). This wouldn't be a problem IF the site was advertised as such!
I find that these men have lived their lives and now want to experience something "different" aka date interracially. Though it may not be the case, it comes across as though they're looking for a Suger Baby and trust me...this is from all ethnicities.
This makes me not want to bother. Though I'm all for interracial dating, I also don't want to see my own ethnicity dominate and be the only folks in my search - which leads to the filters not working efficiently.
Though Interracial Romance cannot make a patron stay on their site, they can at least require a photo. This seems to be optional which further zeros in on the creepy factor as folks can see you but you can't see them. If it was the same across the board for all, then so be it - but it comes off a but one sided.
Lastly, the emailed notifications. I never opted to be emailed consistently regarding anything...including whether someone new joined or if someone checked out my profile but low and behold, the emails were non-stop and quite annoying. This seems as though it's a feature you have to opt out of which isn't right.
AND... this is through no fault of the site but more of a general observation...people on the site are generally rude! I guess we're living in the time of "Ghosting" so since there's a term used for it, people chalk it up to that and accept it. Either way, ignoring someone on a dating site but checking out their profile is odd and rude behavior! If you're okay with that and see nothing wrong, then by all means - jump in.
If thats going to bother you, like it did to me - then think thrice about joining...not just this site, but any dating site! Remember, if someone is so quick to ignore you, just imagine what it could be like with them in the long haul. Saddest part is that these same people wouldn't dare ignore you if they saw you in real life - as they know it's rude and intolerable behavior!
Nonetheless, beware of the issues I red flagged above!
In summary, I would not recommend Interracial Romance to a friend.
