When we logged on to Interracial Dating Central there were over 2,000 members online, which is a great indication as to how many possibilities await you on this site. Single members abound and are ready to chat, and the site offers its premium members email, instant message or video chat options. Prices are a little lower than we expected, and whilst its search options and profile building isn't as in depth as some sites, they ought to do a good enough job for most users.

Let's start by talking about these chat features. As we mentioned, there were thousands of live members on the site when we logged in, a number of them in the chat rooms and many others ready to get chatting. You can easily see who is online through a search or just by browsing the “online members” section of the site. Each account has a private inbox which allows you to send and receive email-style messages at your leisure, or you can chat using an instant messenger service for real-time responses. Perhaps the best chat option, though, is the video chat, which uses your webcams to allow you to see each other and to hear each other's voices. Private rooms can also be created if you would like to chat somewhere a bit more intimate. 

Searching for members is easy but not quite as developed as we've seen elsewhere. The options are still pretty useful though and shouldn't be too limiting. Results are shown in a gallery with a quick description of the person and a photo, as well as their location, age and a brief account of who they're looking for. This could be improved further by providing a few more details, even just in the form of icons which represent interests or relationship status. Generally though, we found the search function to be useful and well organised. 

Customers can contact support via live chat, phone, email, fax or post. There's also a blog to read, although less of a community feel than you might find elsewhere. Free members can do very little other than create a profile, browse and receive messages, so if you do find a few members you'd like to chat with, then you'll need to upgrade to the VIP service. This allows you to send and receive an unlimited number of messages, talk using a webcam and to check on who has been viewing your profile. This can sometimes offer a good way to identify who might be interested on you and to make the first move if someone's a bit shy. We felt that prices were very reasonable for the 6 month contract although they do increase quite significantly if you only want to pay for a single month. We'd recommend finding a few paying members that you like the look of before paying for the service, and considering the longer contracts over the one-month version.

Interracial Dating Central has a lot to offer its members. It doesn't shine in all areas but there are enough active members to keep you going for extended periods of time.
