Performing a Search on InterracialRomance:

• FREE members can only perform a basic search which involves the age, gender and location of members. This search raises a decent number of results due to a good number of members on the site. However, you are unable to contact any of these members if you only have a FREE membership.
• Upgrade your membership (using the free trial or by paying for an upgraded membership) to FULL membership and get things started by sending a message to another member.
• The advanced search (for FULL members only) has a huge range of preferences to pick from including religion, hair type, drinking habits and education level (to name very few of them)!
• Search by nickname to find a member whose nickname you can remember. Useful if you had an interest in a member but forgot to add them to your favorites list.
• 'Save a search' is a useful function which allows you to save your preferences so future searches are much quicker.
  

Editor's Verdict:

InterracialRomance.com proudly claims to be: "The #1 Interracial Dating Community on the Net". How they have judged this statement is down to their discretion but there are certainly some interesting positives to InterracialRomance which keeps us coming back for more. Thus, we have ranked it around the middle of our list of top ten interracial dating websites.

The most astounding thing about InterracialRomance is, hands down, its advanced search function. Due to the huge amount of information on each member's profile, the advanced search allows you to be very selective as to which preferences you want to look for. In fact, the list of preferred search options is so long that we couldn't include it in this review! To give you an idea, it ranges from "favorite TV genres" to "best physical feature: neck". The more obvious search options are there too though, including location and preferred relationship type, meaning that the level of specificity in your search is determined by you and not the web site. There are drawbacks to this, however. Indecisive or overly picky people might spend all eternity searching for members, and since members have so much information on their profiles it takes a long time to create your profile accurately. If you have the time and patience, however, this level of detail is a very good thing indeed.

As we've mentioned, the profile creation is in-depth and unique. It also allows you to upload high definition photographs up to 5MB in size to show off your best features. InterracialRomance tells us that adding a picture to your profile will increase interest in  your site by up to 15 times, so it seems worth the effort! A lot of members, however, haven't taken them up on the offer and have no photo whatsoever, making it a little difficult to determine whether you find a member attractive right away. This could easily be solved by getting to know a member and then asking for a photo, though, and probably makes the phrase "love is blind" a little more appropriate. One peculiarity after creating your profile is a mandatory 'make use of special offers' segment, which requires you to select a group (for example: gay appreciation, tattoo fans) and receive information about that group to your inbox. We didn't really like this somewhat invasive addition, even though some people might find it interesting and beneficial, because it was mandatory.

There are a few more minor drawbacks to InterracialRomance which need to be discussed before you check it out for yourself. The FAQ section of the site, for example, does feel a little underdeveloped at times, as does the forum (though in fairness this is a new feature to the site so we expect to see improvements). Unlike a few other interracial dating websites which have features and news stories to create a sense of community, InterracialRomance seems to focus more on the dating/flirtation side rather than the social side. This may not be a bad thing for you though if you don't really have much interest in group discussion and debate! Another minor flaw lies in the payment methods for upgrading your membership to FULL membership; you can only do so using a few mainstream credit cards or you can pay by check. This is not an issue if you have a check-book or a mainstream credit card, but could be a little difficult if you prefer PayPal or similar payment methods.

Speaking of upgrading to FULL membership, how important is it? Well with InterracialRomance, this upgrade is INCREDIBLY important. Without upgrading to FULL membership you can only perform a basic search and look at profiles. Any communication is dependant on the fact that you upgrade your membership. However, the site does provide a free 3-day trial of its upgrade to FULL membership so you can test the waters and see whether you'd like to spend your cash on the upgrade later on. The features gained from this upgrade are vital to meeting members, although perhaps not quite so extensive as some of our top ranked interracial dating sites.

To sum up, Interracial Romance has some good benefits, primarily involving the depth of its profiling and advanced search option. The high definition photos are also a nice addition to the hunt. However, it does have a number of minor flaws which you may want to consider before opening your wallet. The site is expanding and we look forward to seeing how InterracialRomance grows and evolves.
